Community accountability · By Nyocte

Turn a public commitment into a shared policy tracker

Record the agency, milestones, and evidence so your community can follow progress together.

Begin with a specific commitment

Choose something your community can describe and follow: a planned service improvement, a published program, or a commitment with a target date. Record the responsible agency and link the original source.

Nyocte keeps the records your group adds. It does not automatically monitor agency websites or verify whether a commitment has been fulfilled.

Enable your group's policy workspace

Open your group settings and find Group tools. A member with settings permission can enable Policy tracking when it is available for the group. Then open Documents → Policy tracking.

Choose Track a policy. Add a title, description, agency, and target date. You can link a source URL or a specific version of a document already in the group.

Define milestones people can recognize

Use milestones to break the commitment into observable steps. Track whether a milestone is pending, in progress, completed, or blocked. Keep the policy's overall status up to date as the work develops.

  • What would count as progress?
  • Which document or observation supports that conclusion?
  • What is the target date?
  • What needs checking at the next group meeting?

Keep reports and observations distinguishable

When posting an update, choose whether it is an official report or a community observation. An official report requires a source link or a linked document version. Include enough context for another member to assess what the update supports.

Review the tracker with your group. If access is paused or the tool is disabled, existing records remain available for review, while new activity is restricted.
